Did anyone else see this coming?

Wanted to add a background, but that didn't go so well... so after the Chunin Exams, people start wanting to run her out of the village. Neko, for once stands up for Hani and tells her it's not her fault. Blah blah blah...

Lee's about to head into surgery and Tsunade approaches Hanikamiya telling her she'll need to borrow her chakra. It will help save his life. Hani, of course, agreed. The surgery goes well, and Hanikamiya hugs him tightly. Crying.

Time passes, and the fight against Kimimaru takes place. Lee and Gaara are about to be killed when Hani pressed a certain spot on Kimimaru's back, causing his illness to kill him. He manages to scrape her leg with the bones and hurt her (pretty badly).

On a mission later that she has with her old team (all as Leaf ninja now), they run into Orochimaru and Hani has to make the decision to either save her team or bring back Sasuke and lose the information she was sent to obtain. Her new sensei-Kumori Ame-tells her to get the information and that it was a direct order. Hani disobeys the order and fails the mission. They lose Sasuke, Orochimaru and the valuable information that could've helped them get rid of Orochimaru. Hani didn't want to hurt Orochimaru in the first place... he's like a father to her.

Villagers start trying to run Hanikamiya out of the village, and Lee spots her running for the main gate. Someone grabs her by her hair and her first reaction is to cut it. She draws a kunai and cuts her hair off, falling to the ground. Lee jumps down and prevents someone from hurting her. The villagers back off.

"Hani... what happened on the mission?" Lee put a hand to the girl's shoulder.

"I gave up the villages secrets to save my team, I disobeyed a direct order and I lost Sasuke!" Hani bit her pale lip. Lee walked around as he looked at her.

"I will protect you from them. That is a promise." Lee smiled. He straightened her up.

"Lee... I can't stay... I need to clear my head... I'm a Sound Ninja, Lee... I just-"

She was silenced as his lips pressed against her. The girl felt his hand moving through her now short hair, making her blush. Her eyes flickered closed, and her arms pressed to his chest. The silence came from the village. Neko watched as her rival stood in her Sound Ninja attire. Gai watched in amazement as his favorite student kissed (make-out*cough cough) with a girl who was so frail and broken. Ready to leave the place she was beginning to call home.

"Way to go bushybrow!" Naruto shouts happily. Lee pulled away blushing, wishing no one was watching. Sakura walked up and smacked Naruto. She nodded to Lee.

Lee turned back to Hani and hugged her. "Will you stay?"

"Why do you even need to ask anymore?" she pulls away from the hug and crashes her lips to his, much to his surprise.
