Literature Text

Your parents forced you to go to the school musical. Phantom of the Opera was one of your favorites. The Phantom your favorite character. You knew they never cast them to your imagination. Although, the rumors of a fantastic Phantom and Christine. Maybe they’re not as bad as they’ve been before.

It started. The lights dimmed. And it began. You sat. Listening to the songs. The voices were alright in your opinion. You heard Christine and smiled. She was good. That girl could go far, with a voice like that. You approved of Christine. Your jaw dropped when you heard the sweet melody of the piano. Harmonizing with the wonderful sound of the young man’s voice. Your father was the director. You knew he did it right this time.

Insolent boy! This slave of fashion basking in your glory! Ignorant fool! This brave young suitor, sharing in my triumph!” The boy playing Phantom growled at the audience.

Angel! I hear you! Speak - I listen... stay by my side, guide me! Angel, my soul was weak - forgive me... enter at last, Master!

Flattering child, you shall know me, see why in shadow I hide! Look at your face in the mirror - I am there inside!

Angel of Music! Guide and guardian! Grant to me your glory! Angel of Music! Hide no longer! Come to me, strange angel...

I am your Angel... Come to me: Angel of Music...

His voice echoed in your ears. You were hypnotized the entire production. Upon finishing, you looked at your father. Smiling.

“Want to meet them?” He smiled.

“YES!” You shouted and ran along toward the backstage with your father.

It’d been a long time since you’d been that excited about meeting the cast.

Night time sharpens, heightens each sensation. Darkness stirs and wakes imagination. Silently the senses abandon their defenses. Helpless to resist the notes I write. For I compose the music of the night. Slowly, gently night unfurls its splendor. Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender. Turn your face away from the garish light of day. Turn your thoughts away from cold. unfeeling light. And listen to the music of the night. Close your eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams. Purge your thoughts of the life you knew before. Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar. And you live as you've never lived before. Softly, deftly, music shall caress you
hear it, feel it, secretly possess you. Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind. In this darkness that you know you cannot fight. The darkness of the music of the night. Let your mind start a journey to a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be. Only then can you belong to me. Floating, falling, sweet intoxication. Touch me, trust me, savor each sensation. Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in to the power of the music that I write. The power of the music of the night. You alone can make my song take flight. Help me make the music of the night.
” The young man was singing into the mirror as the girl playing Christine walked up, putting a hand to his shoulder.

“Well, you’re the best Angel of Music I’ve heard.” The girl smiled.

“I couldn’t get it perfect...” The young man frowned.

“Hey, you managed to scared the life outta me for a while. Screaming and growling, but still in tune. It was creepy.” The girl encouraged.

“Shun, Anne. This is my daughter, <Name>. She’s the picky one.” Your father smiled.

“Ah, director!” Anne smiled. “Shun’s beating himself up again.”

“Shun, you have to learn that perfection is to be striven for. It was only your first time performing. I expect better next time.” Your dad was happy as could be.

“Right...” Shun smiled gently.

“Come on, I’ll treat you to ice cream tonight. Let’s go.” Your dad treated the two like his own.

“Hey, dad, I’m coming too, right?” You ask.

“Of course, sweetheart.”

So, with Shun, his is mainly based around the fact that he's a piano player, and OBSESSED with being the perfect Phantom to Anne's Christine. He wants to compliment Anne, because she's the nicest person to him.
In the meantime, you're a picky listener to Phantom of the Opera. You only like the best, and you understand that they're kids, but your father, the director of the musical, insisted that it was a good cast this year, and managed to get you to watch.

Basically, you fell in love with Shun's voice.
